We have some exciting things planned for this week at the College of Pharmacy.
To begin this week, today is a day to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. and all of the impact he had and has on so many people. Celebrate today and and relax in the knowledge that we are blessed and have many freedoms.
During the week of January 16th through 20th we are going to recognize National Birth Defects Prevention month. The theme for 2017 is “Prevent to Protect: Prevent Infections for Baby’s Protection.” We know that not all birth defects can be prevented. But, we also know that women can increase their chances of having a healthy baby by reducing their risk of getting an infection during pregnancy.
We are also going to continue to share health-related articles to encourage healthy eating, exercise and mental and emotional wellness. We would love to see you all post pictures of you or you and your loved ones being healthy with one another. Use the hashtag #healthyatHUCOP and tag our Facebook page so we can see and share what you are doing to stay healthy.
Another thing we would love to start doing is allowing any of our students, staff and faculty to write an article on something health-related that you feel very passionate about. We would love to include your voice into this community and what better way than to put your special touch on this blog and share it to Facebook and Twitter? If you feel like you could write an article for us, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are happy today to have the day off, but let’s not forget why we get to rest today. HUCOP is so blessed to be on this campus and to have some great students, faculty and staff. We’re praying for a good week of hard work, healthy choices and happiness!
