HUCOP Social Media Intern: Katie West

Hello! My name is Katie West and I am the person who manages the Facebook, Twitter and WordPress pages for the Harding University College of Pharmacy (HUCOP.) This article is just a little bit about me!

I started working for Dr. Mercer and HUCOP in September. The previous social media intern, Kendra Stevenson, was the one who really got this position up and running. She did a great job and made it very easy for me to begin working for HUCOP.

I am a senior Journalism major and I am graduating in May. After graduation, I want to be a communication director for a school district. I have always loved the idea of being in a school around children, but I never had the desire to be a teacher. I hope to use my skills to communicate what the children have accomplished both in and out of the classroom, as well as informing the parents and community about what is going on in the school.

I have absolutely loved my time here at Harding and I can’t believe it’s getting close to the end. I have been able to study abroad in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and India and go on a mission trip to Santa Ana, Honduras. I have made wonderful relationships and been provided with great opportunities, like working for HUCOP!

I love to talk to people and share their stories. If there is that you think is worthy of being shared, please contact me! My job is to promote the College of Pharmacy and tell the stories of those who are a part of it.

My e-mail is kwest1@harding.edu. Please send me your story ideas! #healthyatHUCOP
